On St. Michel

I'll let Ross tell the story as proper battle reports on his Battle Game of the Month blog; I'm lucky that he has a way with words in that respect, although it does mean that I am going to lose the propaganda war every time...

My son had the camera, so the only pictures I got were from my cell phone.  The lead shot here is the Pragmatic Army drawn up for the attack on St. Michel (scenario three), showing the rather wide variety of uniforms.  It's a good thing there are no rules for friendly fire incidents in this game, as the Pragmatics must have had quite a time with IFF issues.

The second shot is actually from the Sawyer's Farm/Sawmill Village pre-convention game, showing my sole S-B general, plus his newly completed personal standard and an aide-de-camp with a rolled order galloping off...I was glad of the opportunity to paint a few figures as the convention loomed, and have been working on preparing a few things for painting this week.

  2. Obviously a very enjoyable series of pleasant games offering so much eye candy!
    Glad to discover your blog.
Btw, if I may -I know I'm a maniac of information retrieval- since you'll cover several periods, as outlined in your previous past, *labelling* your posts (it can be done afterward under the 'edit posts' utility, and is not too much of a chore if posts to label are not yet numerous) would make browsing your archives easier, more reader-friendly and securely exhaustive. Hopefully your blog will 'grow' with time, and don't be blind by the 'ephemeral diary' nature of some blogs: your accumulated posts will become a source of information and inspiration. Thus when you have posted some 50 or 100 posts, easy browsing will become precious for newcomers discovering your blog and veterans trying to find again a reference as well! To be able to 'search' for instance by 'NQSYW' or 'Schoeffen-Buschhagen' would be precious then.

    Best wishes,
    Jean-Louis

  3. Thanks for the tip; I have duly updated things, and will strive to adopt a consistent label pattern.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. We had a grand time running the games, and I'm now looking forward to staging the formal siege game.
