When we set up our Historicon schedule, we tried to leave a couple of blocks of time to play some games. Ross ended up in a large scale sailing ship battle using "Fire as She Bears" as the rules, and I joined Duncan Adams, constructor of my fort, for one of his games. We played a 1914 Ardennes situation, as drawn from a new scenario book published for Command Decision/ Test of Arms. As a ringer, I volunteered to take the forces least likely to get into the battle, so I didn't see much action, but it was interesting to see a seldom-gamed period on the table.
Today it will be on to our first siege game, in about two hours.
